
Joella Baker (2025)
A 1988 graduate of Quigley Catholic High School in Baden, Pa., Joella Baker lettered in track and field and cross country.
Following high school, Joella attended Duquesne University in cross country, track and field, and swimming. Joella ran her first marathon as a freshman. Following her graduation, Joella ran multiple races, marathons and triathlons.
A longtime resident of Harmony, Joella has run in over 30 marathons, including 4 ultra-marathons; 300 triathlons, including 18.5 Ironman races; 5 Long Course World Championships; 1 Aqua Bike Long Course World Championship; and one Draft-Legal World Championship, representing Team USA. Joella has competed in 7 World Championships and qualified for 5 others.
In 2020, Joella received the Jeff Jewell Spirit Award from USA Triathlon. The award is given annually to an athlete who gives back to the sport outside of competitions and is considered a role model to other athletes, particularly youth.
In 2009, Joella founded Get Fit Families in Harmony, offering fitness and coaching for youths and adults. Joella has been coaching for a combined 27 years, leading youths and adults to National Championships and world qualifiers in various running, swimming, cycling, marathon and triathlon competitions.
In 2024, Joella received the 2024 CTCA Outstanding Service Award for her dedication and commitment to the sport of triathlon.
