Melinda Rhoads (2026)
A 2007 Slippery Rock High School graduate, Jence Rhoads played basketball, soccer and handball.
In basketball, Rhoads led her team to one District 10 title. She is the all-time girls basketball scoring leader with 2,170 and earned all-state honors.
In soccer, Rhoads scored 100 goals across her high school career and became the school’s all-time leading scorer. She also earned all-state honors in soccer.
Rhoads attended Vanderbilt University, where she was a four-year starting point guard, tallying 1,000 points, 500 assists and 500 rebounds. Vanderbilt reached the NCAA Tournament in all four years of her career there.
After college, Rhoads played professional basketball for three years in Finland and Romania before returning to the states.
After stepping away from basketball, Rhoads tried out for the U.S. Handball Team and earned a spot as a center back. She competed in multiple competitions for the national team.
